Loef’s Spa – August 13th, 1948. The bar is the third building down from the right. The neon tubing spelling “Loef’s Spa” is visible on the front of the building. This photo was taken by the city engineer’s office during the Washington St. widening project. In the 70’s, Loef’s and the building to the right would be joined to create The Woodin’ Nickle.
