924 Washington St.

Pheasant Bar – August 31st, 1948. This photo was taken by the city engineer’s office during the Washington St. widening project. Just below the Norge sign you can make out a Kingsbury Beer sign. This would have been 924 Washington St. The building at the corner would have been 926 (not a tavern ). At the present time the current bar owner occupies both 926 and 924 and the street address is listed as 924. The address 926 technically does not exist anymore – two building have been connected into one address.

This photo was taken on S. 10th St. looking north toward Washington St. It’s from the late 1970’s and Lades Fish Market is in the foreground on the left. The bar at the corner on the right would have been called either The Palace or One More Bar at that time.
